||
Relating to PeopleThe ability to quickly form friendly relationships and win trust is vital to just about any success in life. It is a special quality of a gifted nurse. You can grow in this ability through practicing friendship principles.
To Always Have Friends 1. Instead of worrying about not having enough friends think of ways to be a better friend.
2. Try to be a good friend to everyone. (Not just the popular people.)
3. Refuse to let your opinion of anyone be formed by someone else. Give everyone a fair chance.
4. Always remember that a friend is not something you own.
5. Always have great respect for the freedom of others to make their own decisions. (Never try to control or manipulate others. Guard yourself against the use of emotional blackmail.)
6. Gently withdraw from people who don't respect you and your values. Be mild - but courageous and unwavering in defense of people and truth.
7. Refuse to take offense; choose to control yourself.
8. Want the best for your friend as much as you want it for yourself.
9. Sacrifice the things of lesser value for the sake of friendship, but not the things of higher value.
10. Be there for your friends in their time of need.
