Dear Students,

We are pleased to introduce you to the Beautiful Life Nurse Preparatory Program. We hope we can effectively assist you in your journey to becoming a nurse.

Your three big challenges are:

A. Besting the competition to get into nursing school.

(How to do it)

1. Get good grades.

2. Keep advancing in math, science and English. Complete all required prerequisites.

3. Establish the habit of being dependable and punctual.

4. Cultivate good “people skills”. Overcome fears and be outgoing and friendly. Be caring and considerate of people.

B. Surviving the rigor of nursing school.

1. You will need to be scholastically prepared.

2. You will need to be socially prepared.

3. You will need the habits of excellence.

4. You will need to know how to work long and hard and to be a person who refuses to give up or quit.

C. Passing the NCLEX exam. (This is the test that graduates of nursing school must pass to become licensed.)

(Some tools we have acquired for you)

1. Computerized practice tests. (Repeated trial tests do much to reduce the anxiety associated with taking the test. They also guide to specific areas of needed additional study.)

2. Practice flash cards.
